About

Based in New York, Denitza is an artist, designer, and founder of her namesake company.

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, she spent her early years immersed in the international art world, which was introduced to her by her family, but especially her artist father. She earned her MFA while attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, with focuses in illustration, book design, and traditional printing.

With an eye for color and an interest in textile, Denitza’s creative and professional ambitions led her to New York City, where she studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her studies were followed by a 20 year career as the creative director of several fashion brands.

Denitza’s return to art and her dream of creating a collection of functional art pieces began in 2019. It became her endeavor to create a handcrafted product line of exquisite quality, suitable for daily use, special occasions, or simply as stand-alone art objects.

Today, her work predominantly finds its voice in painting, drawing, and ceramics.

Artist Statement

“My work begins with instinct—color, shape, and movement coming together without a strict plan. It’s a rhythm that builds and shifts, something I follow rather than control.
Sometimes I start with a clear idea or story I feel drawn to, but I don’t force it. Other times, I begin with nothing at all—just a blank surface and a willingness to experiment.

Painting becomes a kind of conversation, both inward and outward, where different thoughts and emotions meet and take form. I’m always looking to surprise myself—discovering new approaches, techniques, or simply a different way of seeing.

At its core, the process brings me a deep sense of satisfaction and, often, pure joy.”
